The Moycullen U15 boys ended a long season with a depleted team putting in a strong showing at the annual Tolka Rovers tournament in Dublin in early May. Overall, while the results may not highlight it, it was a very successful season for the boys. at U15, getting games on the road proved much more difficult that at U14 as most clubs operate on an U14/U16/U18 cycle. for this reason, the team were forced to play a number of U16 teams on their travels and also entered the Galway U16 cup. this certainly made things difficult for the guys as the difference in size between the better u15 and u16 teams is immense. the first game of the season highlighted this when they faced a kestrels u16 team with a starting five that were all over 6' 2''!! however, the experience gained in these physical games added another dimension to the team and this showed later in the season as they twice pushed a previously dominant maree team to two points, and indeed led them all the way in the galway league final. With u16 presenting an all ireland dimension next season, the team and management will continue to work towards the holy grail of a galway win over maree and an opportunity to face in competition the teams they have spent the last two years visiting on the road... roll on 2013/2014.....
